To complement the CD player, Coby included both an auto-stop cassette deck and an analog AM/FM tuner. The deck's two-way recording (CD and radio) sounds particularly good thanks to the one-touch automatic level control, which ensures consistent results regardless of the source. Meanwhile, the AM/FM radio offers an alternative for folks who enjoy talk programming and DJ playlists.

The feature set concludes with a pair of 4-inch wide-range speakers (2 watts x 2), which produce a solid overall sound. Though not powerful, the speakers do the job, especially considering the system's affordable price. The MP-CD450 also includes a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a carrying handle, and runs on eight D-size batteries or AC power.
